Minehead
is one of Somerset's prettiest coastal towns nestling between
the wooded slopes of the Exmoor National Park and the gently meandering
coastline. Its many attractions include the wide sandy beach,
promenade, gardens and colourful tree lined avenues.
There
are a wide range of facilities and amenities including
a hospital, schools, leisure pool and shopping
yet the town retains much character with its pretty
harbour and steam railway. The surrounding area
contains such "gems" as the picturesque
villages of Porlock and Dunster, the latter with
its famous castle and yarn market.
